City Ordinance
Walled Lake has a part-time Council, working full-time to respond to the needs of our residents, businesses, and employees. The Council is the legislative and policy making body, made up of seven members, a Mayor and six Council Members, directly elected by the voters, on a nonpartisan basis, to four-year terms of office. It is the Council’s duty to act, by motion, resolution, ordinance, and order to govern the affairs of the City as outlined in the Walled Lake City Charter.
Citizens are welcome and encouraged to actively participate by attending meetings, volunteer for a committee, board, or commission. Walled Lake City Council Meetings are open to the public and held in City Hall Council Chambers on the 3rd Tuesday of each month, at 7:30 p.m.
